Monkeys just flew outta my butt

 Something odd happened today I was doing my job as usual when out of nowhere a person who has the reputation of being the meanest and most heartless person in the company, stopped at my desk smiled said hello and asked me how I was doing and that he has meant to stop by and say hello before this but was extremely busy. That is when it happened… Monkeys must have flown out of my butt . . .

 the impossible, became the implausible and then in a blink of an eye became reality! Mr. Mean Jeans became Captain Chatty Kathy with a heart and soul the size of a double Decker bus.

 This must be opposite day . . . Although I must say he was interesting to talk to

Hungry for a blog entry

I was thinking it has been quiet for a couple of weeks as far activities go and I was not sure what to post that was worthy of a thought. Then I got hungry and decided that seeing how I have a lot of readers and followers from different states and different countries that I would ask what your favorite food or dish was.

 Being from Boston Massachusetts in the United States of America you would think that my favorite food would be Boston Baked Beans

or Clams

or Haddock

or even the New England Boiled Diner of Potatoes, Ham (or Corn beef) and local vegetables (and or cabbage),

although I do enjoy them I have to say that I actually have a fondness to Chinese food and Pizza, But my two favorite foods are Beef Stew with Turnip in it and a dish that is a spin on chip beef on toast, it is Scrambled Hamburger with beef gravy over white rice, not a Massachusetts dish or a New England dish for that matter, but something a really like to eat.

 So come on fellow bloggers, what is your native or local food dish and what is your favorite food of them all.

Patriot Day 2014

 I am taking time out from my regular Blogging entries in observance of Patriot Day, Thank you for your indulgence in what I consider very important to honor.

Patriot Day should not be confused with Patriot’s day, also known as Patriots Day, which commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775, which were two of the earliest battles in the American Revolutionary War.

 

Patriot Day is an annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Many Americans refer Patriot Day as 9/11 or September 11.

Patriot Day is held in the memory of the almost 3,000 innocent people who died during the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington DC and Shanksville Pennsylvania in the United States of America

What do we do to Observe Patriot Day?

On the direction of the President, the flag of the United States of America should be displayed on the homes of Americans, the White House and all United States government buildings in the whole world. The flag should be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect to those who died on September 11, 2001. Many people observe a moment of silence at 8:46 AM (Eastern Daylight Time). This marks the time that the first plane flew into the World Trade Center. Some communities, particularly in the areas directly affected by the attacks, hold special church services or prayer meetings. People, who personally experienced the events in 2001 or lost loved ones in them, may lay flowers or visit memorials.

 Patriot Day is not a federal or state holiday it is merely a day to remember and reflect on those that lost their lives and to those that gave theirs saving others on that day of the terrorist attacks. Here is some background for those that have forgotten and those of you from other countries.

On September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked. The hijackers then deliberately flew three of the planes into two important buildings, the Pentagon in Washington DC and the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The fourth crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The loss of life and damage that these hijackings caused form the biggest act of terrorism ever on United States soil. Nearly 3000 people died in the attacks and the economic impact was immense.

The attacks have greatly increased attention to national security in the United States. This has had huge implications for United States national and international politics. This is particularly true for the relationships between the United States and Islamic countries in the Middle East.

 I want to thank the men and women that gave their lives to rescue and treat all the victims of September 11^th and honor those that lost their lives in this tragic terrorist attack on innocent civilians not just from the U.S.

 

May we never forget 911

Buckle up bumpy week ahead.

I am hoping it is isn’t going to be one of those weeks but judging after this morning, I am going to buckle up and expect a bumpy week.

  This morning I was a far cry from a good start, I got out of bed and my shoulder popped out, I had to use a door frame to push it back in. while I was doing that I tripped over my own feet and did a great Beckham header into the bedroom and cracked the door.

  The list continues as if it is an Airline check list before takeoff.

Pilot to Navigator beginning pre week take off check list . . . Navigator to Pilot Roger . . .

Shoulder popped . . . check

Foot tripping . . . check

Head butting door till cracked . . . check

Cut ear while shaving . . . check

Stub toe on shower door . . . check

Close door on finger . . . check

Soap in eye . . . check

Spill hot coffee on uniform . . . check

Hit every stop light on the way to work . . . check

Boss angry on arrival . . . check

Navigator to Pilot we are ready for takeoff of the work week, please proceed to runway 2 East . . .

Buckle up folks the week is going to be a bumpy one; I suggest a Helmut and a flack vest.

The age of “Because I can”

Do you remember the age you were and the first time you were able to use the phrase “Because I can” for the first time.

 I remember the first two times I was able to use that phrase. The First was when I got my first paycheck and I wanted to go to Burger King on a Saturday afternoon, my father said, why you going to Burger King there are plenty of things in the house you can eat. I remember thinking fine and feeling slightly sad and then a milliseconds later I hear angelic music and a light bulb flashed. I turned and looked at him and said because I can. It was like I was 10 feet tall, and that burger and fries was the best tasting lunch I had eaten

 The second memorable time I was able to use that phase was around 6 months after I was paying rent and out of High school. I informed my parents that I was going out and I would not be back until tomorrow sometime in the late morning. I started to get the lecturing and I stopped them cold with the I’m staying out because I can, I’m an adult I have a job, I pay to live here and I want too, there for I am going out and staying out because I can.

 After a moment of quiet that seemed to last forever I got the speech about my house my rules, I apologized and then looked at the both of them and say “May I go out and stay out over night and be back late morning, because I can and you say so…hahaha after a laugh I got the go ahead and I felt like I was on top of the world.
